DESCRIPTION

The Warehouse Receiving Associate is responsible for safely receiving, inspecting, unloading, and documenting incoming shipments, including heavy equipment and oversized materials. This role ensures accurate inventory control, proper storage, and compliance with safety and quality standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Key Responsibilities

Administrative Support

  • Receive, unload, and inspect inbound shipments of heavy equipment, parts, and materials
  • Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, or hoists
  • Verify shipments against bills of lading, purchase orders, and packing slips
  • Identify, document, and report damaged, missing, or incorrect items
  • Accurately enter receiving data into inventory management systems
  • Label, tag, and store materials in designated warehouse locations
  • Coordinate with warehouse, logistics, and procurement teams to resolve discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe receiving area
  • Follow all OSHA, company, and site-specific safety procedures
  • Other duties as assigned by the Receiving Manager

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous warehouse or receiving experience preferred
  • Experience handling or receiving heavy equipment or oversized freight is a plus
  • Ability to read shipping documents and basic inventory systems
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

 Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs (heavier items handled with equipment)
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and climb for extended periods
  • Comfortable working around heavy machinery and industrial environments

 Equipment & Tools Used

  • Forklifts (sit-down, stand-up, or reach trucks)
  • Cranes, hoists, or rigging equipment (as applicable)

 Work Environment

  • Warehouse or distribution center
  • Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
  • May require overtime, weekends, or shift work
